Sean to cycle London-Paris Sportive
This month, we are proud to announce that our very own Cycle Systems director, Sean Lally will be riding the London-Paris staged by the well known HotChillee. This amazing cycle ride will commence on Thursday 24th June in our capital city of London and will wind down on Saturday 26th June in a destination that, in my personal opinion, couldn’t be more lavish or bountiful a location to finish this 550 KM adventure – Paris.
This journey is the nearest you are going to come to cycling the extravagant ‘Tour de France’, with mavic service corps and full escorts throughout the whole duration of the cycle. What seperates this ride from the many other london to paris events that take place throughout the year is that the roads will be closed to allow the cyclists to use the whole span of the road, alike to the Pro Peleton.
This epic cycle will be split into three separate days of cycling. On day one, Sean will be cycling the 167KM from London to Dover, with 1,700M of climbing. After a full day of Great British Cycling, Sean will stay overnight in Dover before being whisked across the English Channel the following morning by ferry.
The next day entails a rather distant 204KM cycle. He will be cycling from Calais to Amiens, taking in the ‘magnifique’ Picardy and Northern France, passing through picturesque countryside and some amazing towns such as Isbergues, Poulainville and Lieres before whizzing into rustic Amiens.
On the final day, Sean will be setting off early in the morning for the beautiful 201KM cycle through the ile-de-france Region cycling through many more gorgeous French villages before finally arriving Saturday evening, cycling round the Arc de Triomph, up the Champs-Elysees, across the Place de la Concorde and finally arriving to the jaw dropping, unmistakable sight of the Eiffel Tower.
This magnificent cycle ride has been recently ranked by the Daily Telegraph as one of the Top 25 World sporting events, alongside the London & New York marathons.
Sean will be privileged enough to be riding alongside Tour de France & Giro D’Italia champion Stephen Rochem, Olympian Rebecca Romero and even former Formula 1 champion Nigel Mansell, amongst many other well known characters in the world of cycling!
Sean will be riding a Look566 with Campagnolo 11 speed equipment.
All of us here are wishing Sean the best of luck in his adventure!
